Cotton Duck has a plain weave and is a heavier fabric similar to canvas. It's a very durable fabric which is often used for outdoor items. The term 'duck' actually comes from the Dutch word 'doek' which means canvas. The first prototype for duct tape was actually made from a strip of Cotton Duck and applied adhesive to the back. Duck fabric is an appropriate choice for bags, nautical upholstery, and sofa slip covers.
